The dromedary camel is the well-known "one-humped" camel from the Middle East.  Its close relative, the "two-humped," or Bactrian camel, comes from eastern Asia.  The dromedary has been domesticated for thousands of years, and in fact there are no truly wild dromedaries in their native range.  Dromedaries have small, densely furred ears and thick eyelashes to keep out blowing sand.  They have an undeserved reputation for being bad-tempered.  In fact they are usually amiable and intelligent.
