Inside, Matschie's tree kangaroo, endemic to New Guinea, hop from branch to branch. An endangered species, this remarkable animal's wild population has declined sharply in the last ten years. It is one of the many species here at the Zoo whose captive population's future is carefully planned, in a cooperative multi-zoo program called a Species Survival Plan.
