Back home again. You know, what
I've shown you is only a TINY FRACTION of the plants
and animals that are out here in the Tamaulipan
Thorn Scrub. There are more than 90 species of mammals
here. At least 300 species of birds. More than 80
species of reptiles and amphibians. Thousands of
species of insects, arachnids, and other fascinating
"bugs." And thousands of species of flowering
plants. I hope you can begin to see that, far from
being vacant land, it is a land that is full of
life. Every time another patch of Scrub is cleared,
all of us lose our homes. Please help us. Millions
of acres have already been destroyed. Stand up for
the Scrub! Support the Gladys Porter Zoo's Habitat
Heroes!
