Giant leaf-tailed gecko (Uroplatus fimbriatus) - Madagascar is home to many bizarre animals, and this one is no exception. It is the largest of the so-called leaf-tailed geckos, whose tails are extremely wide and flat, resembling leaves. These lizards are highly nocturnal, spending their days camouflaged with their bodies flattened against the trunks of trees. Their toes are covered with hundreds of tiny suction disks, enabling them to cling to very smooth surfaces, even glass.
