Radiated tortoise (Geochelone radiata) - The endangered radiated tortoise occurs only on the island of Madagascar, off the coast of Africa. It is a zoo success story and is now well established through captive breeding. The one you see here was born at our zoo. Radiated tortoises can live at least 200 years, so it is very possible this little tortoise will outlive every person alive today.
