The Gladys Porter Zoo, located in Brownsville, Texas,* is seeking a full-time, experienced senior aquarist who is interested in playing a lead role in the construction and maintenance of a small aquarium featuring South Texas salt and freshwater aquatic systems and their inhabitants. This is a hands-on position that involves planning, designing and building systems from the ground-up, as well as stocking, maintaining and repairing them. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and a team player, have experience working with a diverse group of aquatic life, including invertebrates and fishes and must have good exhibitory skills. Excellent observational skills with an ability to detect animal illness/injury are a must..

Salary: $30,000 to $35,000 –commensurate with experience

Job Summary:

• Assist in planning, design, construction and upkeep of aquatic exhibits and life support systems
