Winter Texan Walking Tours
Visitors pay regular admission to the Zoo, and the
energetic 2 hour walking tour is free

Saturday Morning Fun
Kids and parents have been having a great time in
our Animal classes. Enroll your child for Saturday
morning classes at the Zoo. You can join, too. Classes
begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m.
Zoo tour, snack, materials and supplies
are included in each class. Fee is $20.00 per child
or adult and Zoo members pay just $5.00. To
register your child for a class please e-mail our

FEBRUARY 6
Winter Texan Discount
Day
All residents living in the Rio Grande Valley for
the winter will be able to visit the Zoo for the special
admission price of $4.50. Residents will need to show
proof of out of state residency. Identification such
as a driver's license, utility receipt or school ID
will suffice. At least one family member must show
proof of residency at the gate.
Fee: $4.50 per person

The Lower Valley includes: Arroyo City, Bayview, Bluetown, Brownsville, Calaboz, Carricitos, Combes, El Ranchito, Harlingen, La Feria, La Leona, La Paloma, La Tina, Laguna Heights, Laguna Vista, Lantana, Las Rusias, Las Yescas, Laureles, Los Coyotes, Los Fresnos, Los Indios, Lozano, Lyford, Matamoros, Mexico, Monte Grande, Olmito, Porfirio, Port Isabel, Primera, Rancho Viejo, Rangerville, Raymondville, Rio Hondo, Russelltown, San Benito, San Pedro, San Perlita, Santa Monica, Sebastian, South Padre Island and Willamar. Residents will need to show proof of residency. Identification such as a driver's license, utility receipt or school ID will suffice. ZOOFARI '08
Gladys Porter Zoo's biggest fundraiser of the year
is Zoofari. The premier evening (Friday) is the gala
event with a live auction and dinner. Zoofari evening
(Saturday) includes a casual bar-b-que, blackboard auction and live music. Event starts at
6:00 p.m. both evenings.

OCTOBER 11
Upper Valley Appreciation Day
All residents living in the Upper Valley will be able
to visit the Zoo for the special admission price.
The Upper Valley includes: Alamo, Alton, Cantu, Edinburg,
Faysville, Granjeno, Hidalgo, La Joya, Las Milpas,
Linn, Lopezville, McAllen, McCook, Mission, Palmhurst,
Penitas, Pharr, Rio Grande City, San Juan, San Manuel,
Sharyland, Sullivan City, Reynosa, Mexico. Residents
will need to show proof of residency. Identification
such as a driver's license, utility receipt or school
ID will suffice. At least one family member must show
proof of residency at the gate.

Boo at the Zoo
This annual event is an alternative to trick or treating
on the streets. Over 60 carnival-style games and treat
stations along with a spectacular Haunted House will
be available for everyone to enjoy.
6 p.m. - 9 p.m. both nights; Zoo members get in early
at 5 p.m.
Fee: $3.50 / Discounted pre-sale tickets available
until Oct. 29: $2.50
(Members get in FREE)
NOVEMBER 1
Mid Valley Appreciation Day
All residents living in the Mid Valley will be able
to visit the Zoo for the special admission price.
The Mid Valley includes: Donna, Edcouch, Elsa, Hargill,
Heidelberg, La Blanca, La Villa, Mercedes, Monte Alto,
Progreso, Relampago, San Carlos, Santa Maria, Santa
Rosa, Weslaco. Residents will need to show proof of
residency. Identification such as a driver's license,
utility receipt or school ID will suffice. At least
one family member must show proof of residency at
the gate.

NOVEMBER 15
Wild Tales
Come listen to a story and meet some of the Zoo's
Animal Ambassadors. Storytelling stations, face painting
and crafts will be set-up on Zoo grounds.
Free with regular paid admission.
DECEMBER
5, 6 &7
Zoo Nights & Lights
Enjoy a holiday event for the whole family. More than
800 luminaria bags will adorn the pathways, over 135
lighted animal and holiday fixtures, church and school
choirs, arts & crafts show in the special events
building, hot chocolate, churros and more
6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Fee: $2.50 or donate a new, unwrapped toy for Toys
for Tots and get in FREE
(Members get in FREE)
